ToggleEvery year around October, my inbox fills up with the same question. “Anurag, what offer should we run for Black Friday?”
I have been working with Shopify stores for 13+ years now. My team at ControlF5 has set up BFCM 2026 sales for Shopify jewelry brands, clothing stores, skincare labels and many more.
One thing I have learned is that the Shopify stores that win are not always the ones giving the biggest discount. They are the ones with a clear offer, planned early and shown properly.
In this blog, I am sharing the BFCM strategies 2026 and offer tips that I have seen work again and again.
Read through each offer, see which ones suit your products, and pick the ones that make sense for your Shopify store:
Check These Two Numbers Before You Plan Your BFCM Offers for 2026
Before I help any Shopify store owner pick a BFCM 2026 offer, I ask them for two numbers. Without these, you are guessing:
- Your profit on each product. This is what you keep after product cost, shipping and ad cost. Your discount should always stay within this amount.
- Your average order value. This is how much a customer usually spends in one order. You can find it in the Analytics section of your Shopify admin.
Black Friday Strategies for Shopify Stores That You Can Use This Year
Here are the BFCM 2026 offer tips and ideas I recommend to Shopify store owners. You do not need all of them. Pick the ones that fit your products and your profit:
1. Give a Gift Card for the Next Order When Customers Spend $X
When a customer spends a set amount, they get a gift card they can use on their next order. For example, spend $100 and get a $20 gift card.
Why I like this offer: You do not cut the price of anything today. The customer pays full price or sale price as usual. The $20 only costs you something when they come back and place a new order. So this offer protects your profit now and brings a second sale later.
How I would set it up:
- Set the minimum spending amount a little higher than your average order value
- Keep the gift card value around 15% to 20% of that amount
- Set a start date and an end date for using it, like January 1 to January 31
- Add a small rule, like “use on orders above $50,” so the next order is not tiny
- Send the gift card by email right after the order
- Send one reminder email a week before it expires and one on the last day
The mistake I see often: Letting the gift card be used during the same sale. The customer uses it right away on an already discounted product, and you lose profit twice.
Do this instead: Make it usable only after the sale ends. January is a slow month for most Shopify stores, so a gift card valid in January brings customers back exactly when you need them.
Wording you can use on your Shopify store: “Spend $100 this Black Friday and get $20 to spend in January.”
2. Add a Free Gift When the Order Crosses a Set Amount
When a customer spends a set amount, a free product gets added to their order.
Why I like this offer: People love getting something for free. When a shopper sees they are $10 away from a free gift, many of them add one more item. And unlike a discount, you are giving away a product, which costs you less than its price tag.
How I would set it up:
- Pick a gift that costs you little but feels useful to the customer
- Set the spending amount a little above your average order value
- Show the gift’s value clearly, like “Free Mini Serum (worth $18)”
- Show a photo of the gift on the homepage, product pages and cart
- Make sure the gift gets added to the cart on its own, so customers do not have to search for it
- Order enough stock of the gift before the sale starts
The mistake I see often: Giving a gift that feels cheap or has nothing to do with the brand. A random keychain on a skincare order does not make anyone excited.
Do this instead: Give a mini version of one of your best selling products. It matches your brand, it feels valuable, and the customer gets to try something new. If they like it, they may come back for the full size.
One more tip: If your gift stock is limited, say so. “Free gift while stocks last” is honest, and it also makes people order sooner.
3. Offer Free Shipping Above a Minimum Order Amount
Orders above a set amount get free shipping.
Why I like this offer: Shipping cost is one of the most common reasons people leave a Shopify store without buying. They add products, reach checkout, see the shipping charge and close the tab. Free shipping removes that problem.
How I would set it up:
- Check your average order value and set the free shipping amount a little above it
- Check what shipping actually costs you per order
- Mention the offer in your announcement bar at the top of the Shopify store
- Show a message in the cart telling customers how much more they need to spend
- Add a few low price products near the cart, so it is easy to reach the amount
A quick math check: Say shipping costs you $8 per order. If free shipping pushes your average order from $45 to $60, you get $15 more in sales for $8 in shipping. That usually works in your favor. If shipping costs you $20, you may need a higher amount.
The mistake I see often: Hiding the free shipping offer until checkout. If people do not know about it while shopping, they will not add more to reach it.
Do this instead: Show it from the first page to the cart. Use a line in the cart like “You are only $12 away from free shipping.”
One more tip: Add your last shipping date for holiday delivery on your Shopify store. For example, “Order by December 15 to get it before Christmas.” It helps people decide faster.
4. Spend More, Save More: Use a Discount Bar With Two Levels
Customers get a bigger discount when they spend more. For example:
- Spend $75, get 10% off
- Spend $150, get 20% off
You show this as a bar at the top of your Shopify store and inside the cart, so people can see how close they are to the next level.
Why I like this offer: It turns shopping into a small game. When a customer sees they are close to 20% off, many of them add one more product. It is also one of the safest BFCM discount strategy 2026 options, because you only give a bigger discount on a bigger order.
How I would set it up:
- Set the first level a little above your average order value
- Set the second level around double the first
- Check that your profit still works at the higher discount
- Show a bar in the cart that fills up as the customer adds more
- Use simple words like “Add $25 more to get 20% off”
- Decide if products already on sale are part of this offer or not, and say it clearly
The mistake I see often: Adding three, four or five levels. Too many levels confuse people, and confused people do not buy.
Do this instead: Keep it to two levels. Easy to understand, easy to show, and easy for your team to manage.

5. Run Buy 1 Get 1 Offers on Selected Products
Why I like this offer: “Free” is one of the strongest words you can use in a sale. It also fits the holiday season, because many people are buying gifts and like getting two products at once.
How I would set it up:
- Choose which products the offer applies to
- Decide if the second product is free or at a discount, like 50% off
- Keep the rule simple, like “the second item must be the same price or lower”
- Mention the offer clearly on the product page, not only on the homepage
- Test that the discount applies correctly in the cart
A quick math check: Buy 1 Get 1 Free is the same as 50% off on two products. Buy 1 Get 1 at 50% off is the same as 25% off on two products. Check your profit on both before you pick one.
The mistake I see often: Putting this offer on the whole Shopify store. Giving away your high cost or best selling products can eat up all your profit.
Do this instead: Keep it to selected products. Choose items you have extra stock of, or items that have good profit. And do not let this offer stack with other discount codes.
6. Reward Loyal Customers With Bonus Points Before the Sale
If you have a Shopify rewards program, give your customers bonus points before BFCM 2026 that they can use during the sale. For example, give 500 extra points in early November, or give double points on every order during BFCM 2026 week.
Why I like this offer: Your old customers already know you and trust you. They are the easiest people to sell to. When they see points waiting in their account, they have a reason to shop with you first.
How I would set it up:
- Decide how many bonus points to give, or whether to give double points
- Tell customers what the points are worth in money, like “500 points = $10 off”
- Set a date till which the points can be used
- Send an email and SMS to your existing customers about the points
- Give your best customers, the ones who bought more than once, a little extra
The mistake I see often: Waiting till Black Friday to tell loyal customers about the points. By then, they may already have plans to shop somewhere else.
Do this instead: Start early. Send the first email one or two weeks before the sale. Give them early access too, a day before everyone else. Loyal customers like being treated first.
One more tip: If you do not have a rewards program, you can still do this. Send your past customers a special code that works a day before the sale opens to the public.

7. Show Your BFCM 2026 Offer on Every Page of Your Shopify Store
I have seen many Shopify stores run a great deal but hide it in one small banner on the homepage. Customers only find out at checkout, and by then many have already left.
Why this matters: A great offer does nothing if people do not see it. Showing it everywhere reminds customers on every page why they should buy today.
Where I would show your offer:
- Announcement bar at the top: A short line like “Black Friday Sale: Spend $100, Get a Free Gift”
- Homepage banner: The first thing people see when they land
- Product pages: A small “BFCM 2026 Deal” label near the price, with the old price crossed out
- Collection pages: Labels on products that are part of the sale
- Cart drawer: The small cart that slides open after “Add to Cart.” Show a line like “Add $15 more to get a free gift.
- Cart page: A reminder of the offer and how close they are to it.
- Popup: For first time visitors, with the main offer and an email signup
- Menu: A “Black Friday Deals” link at the top of your menu
The mistake I see often: Using different wording on different pages. If your homepage says “Up to 30% Off” and your cart says “Save 20%,” customers get confused and stop trusting the offer.
Do this instead: Write your offer once, in simple words, and use the same line everywhere. Then open your Shopify store on your phone and check every page. A lot of BFCM shopping happens on mobile. If you cannot see the offer clearly on your phone, your customers cannot either.

8. Start Your Black Friday Email and SMS Campaign Early
Tell your customers about the sale before it starts, through email and text messages.
Why I like this: Every one of the best Black Friday marketing campaigns I have worked on had one thing in common. They started early. By Black Friday, inboxes are full of sale emails. If you send your first email that day, it can easily get lost.
A simple schedule you can follow:
- October: Ask people to join your “Early Access” list with a popup on your Shopify store
- 2 weeks before: Send a teaser saying something big is coming
- 1 week before: Share a sneak peek of the deals
- 1 day before: Give early access to your list
- Black Friday: Sale is live
- Saturday or Sunday: Reminder email
- Cyber Monday: Last chance email
Send different emails to different people:
- Past buyers: Show products that go with what they bought before
- People who never bought: Lead with your strongest offer, like the free gift or free shipping
- People who left items in their cart: Update your cart reminder email to mention the BFCM deal
Subject lines you can use or change:
- “Your early access starts tomorrow”
- “Free gift inside every order above $60”
- “Last day. Sale ends at midnight.”
How to write these emails:
- Put the main offer at the top
- Use one button that takes people to your sale page
- Show a few of your best products with their sale price
- Keep it short. People read sale emails on their phones.
The mistake I see often: Sending SMS every day. People get annoyed and unsubscribe, and then you lose them for next year too.
Do this instead: Send 3 or 4 SMS in the whole season. Keep each one to one line about the deal and the link. Only text people who agreed to get texts from you. A good BFCM marketing strategy 2026 is not about sending more messages. It is about sending the right message at the right time.
This schedule is only for your emails and SMS. For the full prep timeline, from finalizing stock in October to testing your site speed before launch, along with a complete store checklist, read my Shopify Black Friday Cyber Monday Playbook 2026.

9. Sell Any 3 or 4 Products for One Fixed Price
Customers pick any 3 or 4 products from a collection for one fixed price. For example, “Any 3 for $99.”
Why I like this offer: The math is easy for the customer. They know exactly what they will pay before checkout. And they usually buy more products than they planned.
How I would set it up:
- Choose a collection of products for this offer
- Set a price that still gives you profit on all the products together
- Create a separate collection page for this offer so people can pick easily
- Show the offer on every product in that collection
- Give each bundle a name, like “The Winter Basics Set” or “Your Glow Routine”
A quick math check: If each t shirt sells for $25 and costs you $10, three shirts cost you $30. Selling any 3 for $60 still leaves you $30 profit, and the customer saves $15.
What this looks like for different Shopify stores:
- Clothing: Any 3 t shirts for $60
- Skincare: Build your own routine, any 4 products for $80
- Jewelry: Pick any 3 rings to stack for $79
- Pet store: Any 3 treat packs for $30
The mistake I see often: Mixing very cheap and very expensive products in the same offer. Customers will only pick the expensive ones, and your profit will suffer.
Do this instead: Choose products that are close in price and go well together. People like buying sets that make sense, like a full skincare routine or rings that look good worn together.
One more tip: Bundles make great gifts. Offer free gift wrap on bundle orders and mention it on the collection page.

10. Build a Separate BFCM 2026 Landing Page for All Your Deals
This is one page on your Shopify store that shows all your BFCM 2026 deals in one place.
Why I like this: When someone clicks your email or ad, they want to see the deals right away. If you send them to your homepage, they have to search for the sale, and many will not bother.
What I would put on this page:
- Your main offer at the top in big, clear text
- A countdown timer so people know when the sale ends
- Products sorted by category or price, like “Gifts under $50” or “Best sellers on sale”
- Shipping dates so people know if their order will arrive before the holidays
- A short FAQ with your return policy, sale end date and gift wrap options
- Reviews from happy customers near the top
How I would set it up:
- Use a simple page link, like yourstore.com/black-friday
- Link every email, SMS, ad and social post to this page
- Add the page to your top menu during the sale
- Keep the images light, so the page opens fast on phones
The mistake I see often: Deleting the page after Black Friday. Many Shopify stores take it down on Saturday and lose all the traffic that could have come for their Cyber Monday sales.
Do this instead: Keep the page live and update it for Cyber Monday with new or extended offers. After the season, keep the same page link for next year and just change the offers and dates. This way, the page keeps getting visitors year after year.

11. Make Your BFCM 2026 Deals Easy for ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity to Recommend
This one is new, and most Shopify stores are not thinking about it yet.
Today, many shoppers do not just search on Google. They ask ChatGPT or Perplexity things like “best Black Friday deals on gold earrings under $100” or “which skincare brands are giving free gifts this Black Friday.”
These tools read content from websites to give answers. If your Shopify store explains your products and offers clearly, there is a better chance they will mention you.
The mistake I see often: Putting the offer only inside banner images. AI tools cannot read the text in images well. If your deal is only in a picture, it may as well not exist for them.
What I would do:
- Write your offer in plain text. Along with your banner, write “Spend $100, get a free necklace box” as normal text on the page.
- Write clear product descriptions. Say what the product is, who it is for, what it is made of and the price. For example, “18k gold plated hoop earrings for women, lightweight for daily wear, $49.”
- Answer the questions people ask. Think about how someone would ask ChatGPT about your product, like “best gift for a sister who loves skincare.” Then write a short section on your page that answers exactly that.
- Write blogs on your own Shopify store. AI tools pick up answers from helpful articles, not just product pages. A blog that answers a real shopping question gives them something to read and quote. Mention your products and your BFCM 2026 offer inside the blog, with links to the product pages.
- Add an FAQ on your BFCM 2026 page. Answer real questions like “When does the sale end?” and “Is free shipping included?”
- Keep prices the same everywhere. If your product page says $49 and your sale page says $45, it confuses both people and AI tools.
- Collect reviews before the sale. Ask past customers to leave reviews in October. AI tools often look at what real buyers say.
- Get mentioned on other websites. Gift guides, deal roundup blogs and online communities all help AI tools find your brand. Reach out to bloggers in your niche in October and share your deal early.
- Mention the year. Use “Black Friday 2026 sale” on your landing page and blogs, so tools know your offer is current and not from last year.
Blog ideas you can write before the sale:
- Jewelry: “Best Jewelry Gifts Under $100 for Christmas 2026” or “How to Pick the Right Earrings as a Gift”
- Clothing: “Winter Outfit Ideas Under $150” or “What to Buy This Black Friday If You Want a Full Wardrobe Refresh”
- Skincare: “A Simple 4 Step Skincare Routine for Dry Winter Skin” or “Best Skincare Gift Sets for Her This Holiday Season”
Publish these in October or early November. This gives Google and AI tools enough time to find and read them before shoppers start asking about deals.
The mistake I see often with blogs: Writing a blog that only says “Our sale is live, shop now.” Nobody asks ChatGPT about that, so it rarely gets picked up.
Do this instead: Write the blog to help the reader first. Answer their question properly, then show your product as one good option with the BFCM 2026 offer mentioned.
You do not need anything fancy for this. Clear, honest writing does most of the work.

Which BFCM Strategies 2026 Should Your Shopify Store Run?
You do not need to run every BFCM strategies 2026 offer on this list. In fact, please don’t. Too many offers confuse customers. Pick 2 or 3 that suit your Shopify store and do them well.
Here is how I help Shopify store owners decide:
Step 1: Decide what you want from this sale.
Every Shopify store wants more sales, but think one level deeper. What exactly do you want?
| Your goal | Offers that fit |
| Customers should spend more per order | Free shipping above an amount, discount bar with two levels, any 3 for a fixed price |
| Clear old stock | Buy 1 Get 1, free gift with purchase |
| Get customers back after the sale | Gift card for the next order |
| Reward your old customers | Bonus loyalty points, early access emails |
| Get new customers | Free gift, free shipping |
Step 2: Check your profit
Look at how much you make on each product after product cost, shipping and ad cost. Only choose an offer that still leaves you money on every order.
Also check how much your customers usually spend in one order, so your free shipping or free gift amount is set a little above it. If an offer looks exciting but leaves you with nothing, skip it.
Step 3: Think about what your customer buys
Pet stores: Pet owners buy food and treats again and again, so “any 3 for $X” on treats and Buy 1 Get 1 on chew toys work well.
Home decor and candle stores: A lot of these products are bought as gifts, so a free mini candle or free gift wrap above a set amount works well.
Fitness and gym gear: Customers often buy a full set, like a mat, bands and a bottle, so a discount bar with two levels pushes them to complete the set.
Step 4: Check if your team can handle it
A complicated offer with lots of rules can lead to wrong orders, angry emails and refunds. If you have a small team, choose simple offers that run on their own without much manual work.
Step 5: Test before the sale
Place a few test orders. Check that the discount applies correctly, the free gift gets added and free shipping shows up at the right amount. I have seen Shopify stores lose sales on Black Friday morning because a discount code simply did not work.
Start Planning Your BFCM 2026 Sale Now
BFCM 2026 does not need a huge discount or a big team. BFCM strategies 2026 need 2 or 3 clear offers that fit your profit, a message that customers see on every page, and emails that go out before the rush starts.
Use these BFCM offer tips to pick your offers September or October, test them before the sale and tell your loyal customers first. The Shopify stores that plan early for Shopify BFCM 2026 give themselves the best chance to make this their strongest sale season.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Question: When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026?
Answer: Black Friday 2026 is on Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday 2026 is on Monday, November 30. Most Shopify stores start their sale a few days or even a week earlier and run it through Cyber Monday.
Question: When should I start planning my BFCM 2026 sale?
Answer: I suggest starting in September or early October. This gives you time to pick your offers, order stock, set up your landing page, build your email list and test everything before November.
Question: Do I need to give big discounts to get sales during BFCM 2026?
Answer: No. A big discount can eat up your profit. Offers like free shipping above a set amount, a free gift or a gift card for the next order can bring sales without cutting your prices too much.
Question: How many offers should I run during BFCM 2026?
Answer: Two or three is enough for most Shopify stores. Too many offers confuse customers and make your Shopify store harder to manage during the busiest days of the year.
Question: Which BFCM strategies 2026 work best for a new Shopify store?
Answer: If you are new, start with free shipping above a set amount and a free gift with purchase. Both are easy to set up and do not need big discounts.
